sti susp FTW!! Nice NA, it's coming along really well. Fozzies look so much better with tint...when I bought mine I had the tint redone as part of purchase negotiations and luv it.

I thought i'd make the most of my foresters ground clearance over the weekend and test out its off road capabilities, which included multiple creek/river crossings and so.. I was very impressed with how it preformed! Heres a couple of pics i took along the way:

Dude.. Why are there no action pics, and where's the mud? weeeak
Looks great all colour coded btw. Will look great when it's lowered, but you really need some nice silver 18's to match it :)

I got the material from my local plastic/rubber place, how ever i'm not that happy with the material. Its too stiff and doesnt really flex enough. I'll be doing them again when i find the right material..

As for the template, i used a picture of some rally armour mudflaps as a rough guide, and after a few cardboard templates i came to a design i was happy with..

Today a mate and I fitted 2002 wrx sti suspension to my forester. After installing the front two struts i realised that on the passenger side strut the nut that holds the top hat, spring and strut together was only just screwed on.. So i tried to tighten it up only to discover that the thread had been stripped by a previous owner :( .. We then pulled it back out and cut another thread and found a nut to suit. However putting the strut back together without spring compressors was imposible, even after trying to compress it all on a hydraulic press. So after finding a place with spring compressors who would put the strut together for me, we finally had the fronts in.. On top of the rear struts i decided to use 6mm saggy bum spacers purchased through Subtle Solutions (thanks Robbks for the sugestion), to make sure there was no chance of a saggy bum. Thankfully the rears went in without any dramas :)

As for the handling side of things, body roll has been reduced significantly and the foz sits heaps flatter through the corners. Also the ride comfort is better than i expected. I havn't pushed it too hard yet, i'll wait till i get a wheel alignment on monday and then give it a good run.. So far the height has dropped 40mm on the front and 50mm on the rear, hopefully in the next few days it settles and drops another 20mm or so..

1/4 inch saggy bum spacers

(these pics were taken straight after the install its since dropped a further 10mm)

I'll put some better pictures up and let you know more about the handling improvements in the next few days once it settles..

Thanks for looking :drinks:

Looks very good mate.. :)

Are the 02 springs the black or pink ones?

Oh, and how did you go getting in the drivers seat the first time after the swap? When I sat down the first time my "must-grab-something-to-not-fall-on-my-ass" reflexes kicked in haha.
