Let's hope the mechanical inspection checks out and i'll pick her up on the weekend / Monday.

I can't wait for the trip TBH. Long overdue, i haven't had more than two weeks off since i went to Mexico in 2005 and with a renovation planned for the house, this may be last time i can do this kind of thing for at least a decade. I never got right round New Zealand before i left - I knew the north island like the back of my hand but never got down south for anything other than dance musik events. Wont be able to go into the national parks with the dogs, but there's plenty of country out there!

Nice Rig, Congrats!!

You're gonna have a ball. Did a loop around in 99 for 7 months with 2 mates & lots of toys, but that was before i got all "responsible"

Planning on spending a few weeks in the next year or so in your fine country doing something similar.

Looking forward to your trip reports....

So, the truck went for a roadworthy and mechanical inspection on Friday. Needed some bits and pieces:

- L&R front hub seals
- LH Rear shock
- Numerous bulbs and bushes
- Power steering fluid reservoir
- Drivers seatbelt

So, that should be finished tomorrow and i'll be able to go pick her up :)

I've been doing a little research and planning my first mods

first up will be all fluids and filters with some quality gear, then

brakes:

93+ (fit bigger rotors) front calipers
New RDA slotted and dimpled rotors
Braided lines
100 series (98+) front pads cut down to fit calipers

Stock rear calipers
New pads
New RDA slotted and dimpled rotors
Braided lines
new handbrake shoes

Some good fluid

I could also upgrade the rear to larger calipers/rotors from later model but then i would need to replace my 15 inch wheels with 16 inch :(

Steering

- new 'return to centre' steering dampener
- New bushes to suit
