The Bug-Eye

Most of the pictures in the thread were screwed by the Photobucket drama and I removed them off bucket before chrome did the plugin. I've reloaded the "good" ones in the first post and won't be visiting every post in this thread.

I've always wanted one of I have one.

Pic from when it was for sale....

How it was when I bought it
All the usual MY02 STi goodies, plus
VF34. Not sure why this was done as on paper it shouldn't really be an upgrade over the VF35
3" TBE, HiTech muffler
K&N Panel filter :?
Supposedly tuned just shy of 200kW ATW
King Lows on stock STi struts = on rails but very harsh.
18" OZ Racing Superturismo wheels, 235/40 KU-36 Hankooks
DBA 4000 rotors, Elig 2021 pads.
Huge wing
Boost Gauge (carp one) :?
For an STi it was pretty mild
Bought it in Brisbane on 31/08/11, I got the car back up to Katherine on 03/09/11. Relocated to NSW 31/07/12.

How it currently is
Apexi panel filter
HF Catch Can
Invidia TBE
Process West TMIC
APS Dual Port BOV
Perrin silicon inlet
PSR UEL headers (wrapped)
Inlet resonectomy, retaining the OTR inlet but with a Beatrush inlet venturi (that I've had for ages) instead of DIY PVC.
Group N engine mounts, trans mount and pitch damper
Spec C Fuel Anti-Surge Device fitted with a Walbro Pump
Pierburg 3 port BCS
Cusco Tarmac RS 1.5 rear diff
STi 12L waterspray tank (Spec C) or stock 4L tank, depends on what I'm doing.

MCA Reds (coil overs)
Cusco H Brace
Quick steering rack
Whiteline HD RSB mounts, links, 24mm FSB (hard setting), 24mm RSB (medium setting)
Whiteline "Sport" ALK
Whiteline KTA109 (toe/camber correction lateral links) and KCA377 (toe lock kit) fitted to the rear end
Whiteline KSB750
Oswald Performance Rear Triangular strut/floor brace.

Cusco MC brace
HEL braided brake lines
Brake Pads - Street/Hill Climb = EBC Red, Circuit = EBC Blue
DBA 5000 series T3 front rotors (titanium shims between rotor hat and hub to preserve the wheel bearings), RDA rear rotors
Endless RF650 Brake Fluid

60mm Defi Oil Temp/Oil Pressure/Coolant Temp gauges in a Defi dash pod, 52mm Defi Boost and Fuel Pressure gauge on the A Pillar
Fire extinguisher (mounted across the front mounts of the passenger seat)
White STi Duracon gearknob
JDM hazard switch
ICE deleted
For track days add....
Dished Steering Wheel (Sparco) so I can sit further back (better ergonomics)
Sabelt Titan XL fixed bucket seat on a Planted Technologies base with Sparco adjustable rails
OMP 6 point FRS harness

Chargespeed front lip destroyed in hill climb crash
HTA front lip
BMW E46 replica gurney flap on the rear wing
Bosch aerotwin wipers
2 x Perrin Wing Stiffi's

RAYS CE28N (17x9 +43) with 255/40 Hankook Z221 (C50 compound) for circuit/hill climb
RAYS RS-Zero (17x8 +40) with 225/45 Advan AD08R's for the street and wet track days
Stock wheels with 225/45 Achilles ATR 2 tyres
Wheels I've had on this car in the past
Stock wheels (17x7.5 +53) with 235/45 Michelin PS3's
A-Tech Finalspeed (17x8 +46) with 235/45 Hankook Z211's (C70 compound) for hill climbs (sold to wizz)
Ultrex RS (18x8) with 235/40 Kumho KU36
OZ Supertourismo (18x8) with 235/40 Kumho KU36

At Hidden Valley (Dec 2011)
WSID (July 2013)
King Edward Park Hill Climb (Oct 2013)
Early 2015, about to head off for a track day
Around May 2015 I destroyed the front corner at a hill climb
After fixing the damage it had a different look....hill climbing again
King Edward Park Hill Climb

Ringwood Park Hill Climb

Future plans/Things to do
Engine Oil Cooler (have)
Braided brake and clutch lines rear only fitted at the moment
Blouch 1.5 XTR Dominator (7cm hot side) (have)

1000cc injectors
More bracing
Flat Engine Bay Undertray (Beatrush or copy)
Brake ducting (have)
Underbody Aero (OEM stuff) (have)
Aero mirrors (have)
Half Cage
Aircon delete

fresh engine (probably 2.0~2.2L) with better gear in it, revised exhaust, thinking an SMB system

I've got to admit watching Burkes videos have had an influence. ;)

Hill Climb - Ringwood Park (old) - 32.01 / Ringwood Park A2 - 40.99 / Ringwood Park 5 - 59.85 / King Edward Park - 42.21
Circuit - SMSP South - 1.04.2 / SMSP North - 1.13.8 / SMSP Brabham - 2.17.46 / SMSP GP 1.50.04 / Wakefield Park - 1.07.89
Drags - WSID - 13.895 @ 104.3 mph :(

October 2017 - It's been a fun car but is now on its way out of my life. It's earned some trophies along the way. 3 consecutive class wins (2013, 2014, 2015) for hill climbs and for supersprints I ran 3rd in 2015 and 1st in 2016 for my class.
