Id say 4 years and 95000KMS....pretty amazing really as normal halogens only last at best 12 months 25000kms if the lights are left on permanently
Both globes have got cracks in them
New set of after market Units ordered today, hopefully they will arrive on Monday :D and will be good to go again

Final Result Still going strong after 60k and nearly 3 years being left on
the glass part of my globe was broken on both.
It was under $100 delivered for the pair.

The ones I got from the USA

Matched Pair NEW PHILIPS D2R OEM HID XENON BULB 85126

Little update car is approaching 8 years old, I have replaced 3 pairs of HID Globes on globes 5 and 6 now
Also replaced both Ballasts so on 3 and 4 now

I hope it helps others :waves:

The are not OEM Pete I get them very cheaply, SO I have my reservations on quality but they come from one of our larger lighting suppliers Britax who said good things about them...as they do

Time will tell ;)

The New replacements arrived today, so I fitted them up Drivers side was easy passengers side you have to remove the battery.

The new ones fired up all ok.........we will see how long these last

The Factory globes failed due to the glass cracking as you can see in the picture below

Just an Update on the HIDs I fitted, they did not last long in my car as they were 6000k which looks great for a show car from the outside but when your looking at the road from the inside its like driving looking through a bluish haze.

Not to mention one globe must not have been set at the correct angle as it pointed high when put in the car and you cant adjust them too much as you loose the level of the high beams as they are connected together
Id recommend a 5000k Globe Max

Any way I did the search for a OEM PHILIPS 85126+ Replacement in the 4300k Made in Germany.

All I can say is e-bay is your answer, I ordered 85126 (note the plus they stay colour stable through out there life Unlike the New Philips fitted which climb to 5000 over time so Ive read) The pair arrived in 4 days from America for under $100 Aus Dollars, fitted on Wednesday so Im off agin :D

I hope this info helps others :drinks:
Not sure what the cost of the globes are from Subaru but I could only imagine :o

Old thread I know, I just got a quote from Subaru for $540 per bulb, Repco for $410. And have just ordered two D2R 6k from Delonix in Perth for $49.95. They sure sound too good to be true, will let you know how I get on.

After reading your post, now thinking perhaps I should have gone with a lower colour temp :-(

As soon as you go any shade of blue, even light tint, you start to loose brightness, something both hid's and halogens share.

Hmm I had no idea they were any shade of blue! I ordered them off http://www.delonixradar.com.au/hid-xeno ... globes.php as it says they are crisp white.

Are these bulbs illegal then? It doesn't say anything about it on the page.
