...and i'm addicted to ozfoz.

figured it's about time to get a pic or two up of my foz, seeing as i've been postwhoring around here for aaaaaaaaages.

i was looking around for a foz for a while, wanted a MY00 silver GT in stock condition with good km's for $15K (was the end of 2007). spent a fair while looking around and eventually found one out in dubbo, 5hrs from sydney. the guy happened to be coming to sydney the next week and was willing to drive it over - so i got it REVS checked and subaru in dubbo did a 100+ point inspection and said it's all good. so i put a deposit on it and took it for a test drive when he got to sydney and we did the deal. bit of stuffing around between his bank and my bank, but in the end we got it sorted and i drove home fairly happy...

until i noticed it surging on a regular basis! did the then-standard clean the AFM and replace it, took it to subaru twice and still no joy. in the mean time i discovered something that subaru neglected to mention in either dubbo or sydney - it had a CAI and an interesting T-piece that was blocked with a screw in one of the boost hoses. hmm... stock much?

anyways, after much stuffing around i took it down to pulse racing for the 150K service and asked paul to look into the surging issue for me. turns our some of the hoses were mis-routed and the turbo was only running at about 4-5psi, and the spark plugs were so shot they looked like they hadn't been changed in 100,000km. how does subaru miss these things???
drove home, happy as larry, and she's been pretty well behaved ever since. i get the occasional surge from time to time, and a nice clutch shudder when it's cold...

mild mod list:
    - KYB excel-g MY93-00 (GC) impreza struts (fronts: 334253/334254 rears: 334109/334110)
    - king spring low front, low hatch heavy duty rear (fronts: KSFL-22 rears: KSRL-24H)
(thanks to gsxr for hooking me up with shawn at http://www.phillcomrally.com)
    - 3" TBE stainless, twin tip xforce muffler
(talk to fadi at budget exhaust bankstown for a deal http://www.budgetexhaust.net.au)
    - sackster special short shifter
    - CAI, resonectomy
    - JVC KD-G845 head unit, jaycar 6.5" splits, jbl amp
    - tint
    - F badge (extra 5kw at least)
    - ozfoz orange sticker, medium (approx 7kw atw)
    - silicone CV boots (not really a mod, but useful info) sourced from: Turner Driveshafts & Steering, 7 West St, BROOKVALE, NSW 2100 (02 9905 0574)

future list of maybe/perhaps's:
TD04L + MBC or jaycar IEBC
    XT brakes
    rims
    amp/sub

that's all i really want, i don't drive the foz hard enuf to warrant a serious build, and it needs to be friendly for driving long freeway stretches on a regular basis.

how she was when i got her in dec 07
